During my
editorial travel #mbf_barcelona I was able to enjoy the pleasure of being guest
at the Mandarin Oriental Barcelona for a wonderful spa treatment and a delicious
Lunch. Moreover we have been shooting at the hotel for a new lifestyle project.
In the following article I want to share my impressions of the stay, so as
introduce you guys to this unique hospitality.
It was one
of our last days in Barcelona when we payed the Mandarin Oriental a visit. We
have been invited to the hotel for some pleasant treatments. One of them was a
relaxing and very calming massage. Since the time in Barcelona has been very
stressful and busy for me it has been a great escape for me to switch off and
calm down. Our tour had started at the Bankers Bar. The Building used to be a Bank before the hotel and original equitment is used for a original and creative decorated Bankers Bar in the hotel.
I was
pleased with an intensive massage at the luxurious spa area. The spa are has
not only various treatment rooms, but also an expansive 12-metre indoor
swimming pool, heat and water areas as well as a fully serviced
state-of-the-art fitness centre will further complement the hotel’s lifestyle
facilities.
The
perfectly located hotel in the heart of Barcelona includes 120 rooms and
suites, so as a selection of superb and imaginative dining options, bringing
together Asian food and local inspired highlights. Also the collaboration
between Mandarin Oriental and Carme Ruscalleda brings an exciting development
to Barcelona’s culinary scene, which is becoming increasingly renowned as one
of the most inspired in the world. Carme Ruscalleda is the only woman in the
world to be awarded a total of seven Michelin stars. I felt very honored to be
guest for lunch and to be able to enjoy this unique food presentation.
The
stunning interiors are the work of award-winning Spanish designer, Patricia
Urquiola who has combined sumptuous fabrics of leather, velvet and exquisite
silks along with elegant woods and a rich palette of green, black and gold to
create a sophisticated and vibrant living space. Her eye for detail can be seen
throughout the suite from the beautiful Tai Ping silk and wool rugs to the
Bassano ceramics and statement pieces of furniture that she has designed
exclusively for the hotel working with renowned brands such as B&B, Moroso,
Flos and Molteni.
Luxury is
in every detail including the attentive services of your butler, a 24h personalized
butler service for guests staying in all our suites The Penthouse Suite, Mandarin Junior Suite,
Barcelona Suite, Premier Terrace Suite, Premier Suite, Terrace Suite, Deluxe
Suite and Boulevard Junior Suite.
The
Mandarin Oriental is a great idea for hotel, but also for food. With a rooftop
dipping pool and panoramic view over the city’s famous architectural skyline,
located on the 9th floor one will experience a 360ยบ panoramic view.
