I spent the
past weekend in Warsaw with Hilton hotels. While I have already visited Poland once
in the past, I was very lucky to be allowed to discover a new city and of
course a new Hilton hotel. Today I'm more than happy to share my impressions
with you..
On Saturday
my flight left Berlin super early. While getting up by 5AM I had a short and
easy flight to Warsaw. At the hotel I had a pickup organized by the hotel,
getting me to my new home for the next days.
After arriving
at the hotel I still had to wait for the room as the whole hotel was fully
booked the night before. One of the staff members guided me to the lounge,
where I had a drink and some snacks, before getting to the room to refresh.
Inside my
room I was surprised with a lovely goodie bag by Hilton Warsaw. I received some
traditional goodies and surprises. As a part of my family is even from Poland I
was super excited to dive into the culture, as I do not know anything about Poland
beside their preference for vodka.
My room was
supplied with a huge king-size bed and a lot of space for a small person like
me. Located in the 24th floor I felt like sleeping above the clouds. The view
above Warsaw was amazing and got me even more exited to explore more of the
city.
My bathroom
had a bath tub and a shower. My whole room was fully supplied with everything
and I even had a desk where I was able to finish some work and prepare new
postings. The TV in my room had international channels and while I usually do
not watch TV I found myself one night watching a movie in German TV.
After
having a short break in the room I had lunch in the restaurant of the hotel
named Meza. As a vegan I was a little bit nervous, just as always. I have been
to Poland before and knew about alternatives but basically everything was junk
food and I ended up with salad.. The Hilton hotel was perfectly prepared for me
as a vegan and even had vegan options on the menu. I had a delicious pepper
bell soup which will definitely do at home too and some crispy potatoes with
hummus and fresh vegetables.
I've been
more than happy with the food situation at the hotel. Gluten free bread and fresh
and local food was offered during lunch and breakfast. I have to give a slight
note at this part as the Meza restaurant usually does not open for lunch and
was just opened for me and the others of my press group for having lunch. We
had the dinner menu for lunch instead, which was perfectly fine and matching.
After lunch
we had a short break again to pack out bags and meet one of the most famous
chefs in Poland named Kurt Scheller who is originally from Switzerland. We had
a self cooking session all together which was a lot of fun for me. I love
cooking and really enjoyed to prepare my own food. As I was still very fuel of
our actual lunch I only put together a simple salad for mine, while the others
ended up with 5 courses.
After
having a rest and a deeply relaxing sleep at my huge bed I had a city tour with
one of the old and original retro vehicles. We have been all around Warsaw in a
fiat 126p and had an amazing guide who thought us about the history of Poland.
We had many
great activities within the city during this weekend. I've been deeply
impressed by the huge decoration all around the city. Warsaw is definitely
ready for Christmas and also the Christmas markets are worth to go.
As I had
some leisure time before my flight back home I enjoyed some time at the additional
offers of the hotel. The Hilton Warsaw offers its guests access to a Holmes
Place gym which is located in the same building in floor M2. The gym is
supplied with everything, as I mean everything. One will even find a spa over
there, which I have been a guest of as I just last minute booked myself a
massage before my pick up to the airport. I also had a great workout and
enjoyed the pool so as the sauna, which is free in use for the hotel guests.
The hotel
is the perfect place to stay when in Warsaw. One will stay in the heart of Warsaw.
It's in the middle of the center and close to the old town too. The airport is
in 8km distance and even with traffic one won't spend more than 30 minutes
within the cap.
I'm really
grateful for this enjoyable and great adventure. I'm definitely up for another
trip to Warsaw in future as there's plenty of to discover. Thanks to Hilton
hotels for having me on this unique trip.
