Continuing my travels in Seoul I made it to Dragon City, which is the first ever lifestyle hotel-plex by Accor hotels, offering 4 unique hotels of the Accor hotel group in Yongsan, where I was staying with the Grand Mercure Ambassador Seoul Yongsan..
The Grand Mercure Ambassador Seoul Yongsan is a four-star hotel, which I would personally rate 5 star, as the service, facilities and offers of the hotel, so as my whole experience was exceptional. The hotel has a total of 31 floors, which 5 of are only for fitness and wellness.
My room was located in the 22nd floor, as I arrived a little early, the hotel did it´s best to support me with a quick check in and guided me to a suite in the 22nd floor, with an unbelievable stunning view above the city. The whole hotel complex is a huge glass building, which offers views all above Seoul. The design of my room was modern with a twist of tradition design and patterns, so as an artistic setup of books and sculptures. The suite itself was structured in 3 parts. The biggest part was the living room with an open kitchen, located next to the entrance. The second and third part were the bedroom and a bathroom, featuring a bathtub. Just as the lobby, the room had a lot of marble within its design, which gives a glamorous and luxurious vibe. Both, the bedroom and living room had a plasma TV and a UE Boom box.
However, I guess I was most attracted by the fitness club, which offers access to sauna, pool, screen baseball, onsen, gym, gold and even fitness classes on a daily basis. The fitness club opens by 6AM and closes by 10PM. Guests have access to sports clothing and headphones, so as refreshments and beauty products.
Another area, that needs to be highlighted is the executive floor lounge in the 3rd floor which openes for breakfast, tea break and a happy hour, where dinner is served. It comes with the privileges of a free use for the meeting room, so as WIFI and a neck massage device. The food selection changes every day, including vegan options. Next to the lounge one can find the kids library, which has a wide variety of themed books to enjoy from young children to adults.
The Dragon City hotel complex is very close to Yongsan station but also accessible by bus. I was able to do a lot of sightseeing as the location of the Grand Mercure Ambassador Seoul Yongsan is an appropriate choice for explorers. Besides the hotel offers a free shuttle bus, which runs from Monday to Friday and stops all around the main spots in Seoul.
Dragon City opened in 2017 and became a hotspot for beach parties and exciting events ever since. The complex offers a total of 1700 rooms and a variety restaurants and bars, so as “sky kingdom”. Dragon City is worth a visit and even better to stay at.
