From the moment I stepped inside the hotel, it was clear that this property is all about contemporary design and innovation. The lobby felt vibrant, yet sophisticated, with its minimalist décor, clean lines, and touches of Cuban flair. The ambiance was warm and inviting, striking a perfect balance between the modern conveniences of a five-star hotel and the charm of Havana’s unique character. The staff greeted me with the same impeccable service I had come to expect from my previous Kempinski stays, ensuring that every aspect of my arrival was seamless.
For this stay, I had the pleasure of staying in one of the Deluxe Rooms, which offered a perfect combination of comfort and style. The room was spacious, featuring sleek furnishings, soothing neutral tones, and floor-to-ceiling windows that allowed plenty of natural light to flood in. The minimalist design, accented with local artwork, created a calm and serene atmosphere, ideal for unwinding after a busy day of exploring Havana. The best part of the room, however, was the view. From my window, I could see the Capitolio building, one of Havana’s most iconic landmarks, along with a slice of the city’s vibrant streets. It was the perfect reminder that, while I was surrounded by luxury, the heart of Havana was just outside, waiting to be explored.
The en-suite bathroom was equally impressive, featuring a walk-in rain shower and premium bath amenities. After a long day of walking through Havana’s cobbled streets, the spacious shower was a welcome retreat, offering the relaxation I needed to recharge for the next adventure. Much like my stay at Gran Hotel Manzana, the rooftop at Gran Hotel Bristol quickly became my favorite spot. While this rooftop is a bit more intimate, it still offers breathtaking panoramic views of Havana, with the Capitolio and Old Havana’s skyline in full view.
The infinity pool, though smaller than its sister property, provides a perfect spot for relaxation. The rooftop bar, El Capitolio, serves up a delightful range of drinks. As the sun set over the city, the rooftop transformed into a magical space, with the golden hues of the sunset reflecting off the pool and the Capitolio glowing in the evening light. It was the perfect way to end each day in Havana.
For breakfast, I enjoyed a buffet at Café Biscuit, which offered a wide selection of local and international dishes. Fresh fruit, Cuban pastries, and made-to-order eggs were just a few of the highlights. The coffee was rich and aromatic, a perfect way to start the day before venturing out to explore the city.
What I loved most about Gran Hotel Bristol was its central location. While staying at Gran Hotel Manzana placed me in the heart of Old Havana, Gran Hotel Bristol allowed me to experience a different side of the city. Just a short walk from the Capitolio and from the Malecón, the hotel provides easy access to many of Havana’s top attractions. During my stay, I spent time wandering through nearby streets, discovering hidden gems such as local art galleries, charming cafés, and vibrant markets. The hotel’s proximity to the Malecón meant that an evening stroll along Havana’s famous seawall was always an option, providing a perfect way to soak in the city’s energy.
Though both properties are part of the Kempinski brand, each hotel offers its own unique experience of Havana. While Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski is all about historic charm and grandeur, Gran Hotel Bristol brings a modern flair to the city, appealing to travelers seeking a stylish, yet comfortable stay in the heart of Havana. What remains consistent across both properties, however, is Kempinski’s signature attention to detail and unparalleled service. From the welcoming staff to the thoughtfully designed rooms, every element of my stay was crafted to ensure comfort and luxury.
